#100HappyDays ROUND 2: Days 31-40

So it is Monday again, and I thought I’d post this specifically as a reminder about happy things, not Monday things. However, I am almost going on leave and seeing my bestie, so today is pretty great!

31

Day 31: I went for a walk in the nature reserve close to where I live. It is really beautiful there, and it was really relaxing walking in the green after a long day at work.

32

Day 32: The crochet-bug has been around significantly more frequent now that it is a slight bit cooler. I am trying heroically to finish this granny square blanket that I started over a year ago. Wish me luck!

33

Day 33: I sat down with my mom and sister and watched another old-school film I haven’t yet seen. Andy McDowell has NO clue how acting works, but I did like Hugh Grant. He was so handsome as a younger man.

34

Day 34: I went back to the same nature reserve for another walk. glorious!

35

Day 35: Some wine before Power Rangers. Did it make the movie better? Not sure, but might have contributed.

36

Day 36: I do love this Avon French Manicure nail polish. It always comes out looking so pretty!

37

Day 37: I love these pretty rings I bought!

38

Day 38: I bought this USN shake after I finished my Nutritech shake. Further investigation reveals that this is actually just a bit too sweet for me. Anyway, at the price it goes for I will definitely finish it. Maybe it grows on me!

39

Day 39: At this stage in my life I have no issue admitting I love buying shoes. It is my own money, so I couldn’t give a damn about opinions anymore. Anyhow, here is my tan heels I purchased recently. #love

40

Day 40: Attended a babyshower. Let’s be real – most women face these only because you like the mom-to-be and not because of any actual potential fun. I have to say, this one turned out great. I am happy I went!

What have you been up to lately? Let me know!

Friday things

happy friday

I am so happy it is Friday. This week has flown. I am so busy right now I barely have a concept of time. It saddens me, it feels like life is moving past me and I am barely noticing. But there are some happy things happening right now.

Happy things

I am helping plan a dear friend’s baby shower. I can’t wait to see the beautiful baby finally (begin April). My friend will be such a good mommy.

The planning for my sister’s wedding and bachelorettes. It is going to be so awesome.

Our little puppy at home curling up next to you and sleeping. It is just so damn sweet.

My baby steps to getting out of debt seem to be working effectively, if very slow.

Being able to read again – I was in such a reading rut.

Listening to music, and discovering new artists.

Listening to the one true boy band – Westlife

Watching the Mentalist. My happiness is complete.

My boss bringing me homemade cookies because I work too hard. She is really awesome.

Winter is coming along. I am completely over this intense heat.

Amusing things.

The South-African parliament. Minister of women, children and disabilities (seriously, why group the three together?) claims White Afrikaans Christian men are the most abusive in this country. It is pretty much discriminating and racist towards three types of people in this country. I was much impressed when she was chased out of parliament. Now she has withdrawn her comments, but honestly, the damage is done.

What is making you happy right now?

Thoughts on a Tuesday

LAB:

When you have on a lab coats or gloves, your nose will invariably start itching, your eyes will water, or you will sneeze.

It is always the lab’s fault.

Dipping a balloon into liquid nitrogen is the coolest thing I have done in a while.

Burning hand in said Liquid Nitrogen is not so cool.

SOUTH-AFRICA

The country, and its newspapers, are OBSESSED with the whole Oscar Pistorius case.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

Companies have the most ridiculous names.

One Direction should change their name to One Contraception. Because that is about the appeal they have to grown-ups.

Movies will never beat books.

You can only cheat or steal for so long before it comes out.

Once you get over the costs of doing a BSc degree, you need to face the costs of the handbooks.

Somewhere, someone still believes everything they read on the internet.

No electricity in the morning makes getting ready adventurous.

There is nothing happier than planning a wedding/baby shower (for two different people!)
