Friday’s 5 Favourites (Superhero Movies)

The Avengers

Possibly my favourite movie of all time

From Marvel, The Avengers is an initiative of S.H.I.E.L.D to protect earth from extra-terrestrial creatures. When Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) brother arrives, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, The Black Widow and Hawkeye team up despite their differences to save planet earth. The movie had EVERYTHING. I loved it super much. There was humor, sadness, drama, danger, anything you could think of. I watched it in a full cinema, and the people broke out in spontaneous applause at the end. I will watch this movie again, and again, and again, as it always amuses and entertains me.

Man of Steel

The newest superhero flick to arrive, Henry Cavill stars as the iconic Clark Kent, homeboy from Kansas with an alien parentage. Cavill’s performance revamped the franchise, and I cannot wait to see what comes next. He is such a perfect superman – not only does he have the required chiseled looks; he perfectly acts out the weighty responsibility Kal-El has.

Iron Man Trilogy

Robert Downey Jnr. portrays Tony Stark, or Iron Man, a superhero suit he built using his prodigious skill as both a scientist and engineer. The third installment was released earlier this year, mostly to rave reviews, but I didn’t enjoy the last one as much as the previous two. What made Tony Stark so awesome is his humor, his pigheadedness, and his ability to be a hero when he really isn’t built to be.

The Amazing Spiderman

I resisted watching this movie for quite some time, but when I finally did, I was so impressed. Andrew Garfield managed to portray Peter Parker really well. The storyline was full of adventure, anger and sadness. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the entire film, and can see myself watching it again.

Thor

This was my favorite superhero movie for a long time – but when I started watching other movies (older and newer), it started slipping down the ranks. I still love it though, and I really, really like Chris Hemsworth. But if its second movie is without an impressive performance, I will be forced to move it off the list.

Thor

Needless to say, there is tons of superhero movies not mentioned on here. Since it is a 5 favorites theme, it wouldn’t have worked to mention all of those I wanted to. A very specific trilogy, the latest Batman series, comes to mind, and nearly kicked Thor out of the top five. It remains some of the better films I have ever seen, but I had to mention Thor, as it jump started my love for superheroes.

Opinions/comments are welcome!

Annoying Friday

Well, not all Fridays are annoying. Just today. Very.

I have gained weight. How is this possible?! I ate nicely, I exercised, I drank water. I am ridiculously tired of this process. I feel that I cannot win. Really, it is getting to me. I have tried everything, and nothing works.

Why is it so hard to get out of debt? I thought this month would be the last I paid on a specific thing, and apparently, it isn’t. I am going to war with the company, since they told me that this would be my last month. Majorly. Annoyed.

Okay, that is all. Except some new employees that aren’t endearing themselves to me right now.

The appropriate expression would be Meh. Today is just Meh.

At least it is weekend

Happy Friday!

How quick did this week go?!  I am currently at home, on study leave, and I am really studying very hard. My exam timetable is CRAZY – I am writing next week Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, which means plenty of sleepless nights for me. Keep me in your thoughts!

Today is the day I start not eating carbs. I am not satisfied with my weight loss progress, and to be truthful, it is my own fault since I am not eating nearly as healthy as I had planned. It is really not that complicated if you think about it. I made myself an omelette for breakfast – it was lovely, except it didn’t look like an omelette haha.

I finished Nora Robert’s Tribute this week – I really enjoyed it. My next Nora Roberts book will be Black Hills, and then I will be giving her a bit of a rest, and read something else. I have the Ides of March. Has anyone read it, and is the movie by the same name about the book? Please let me know.

Discovery of the week: I am so far from domestication as Kim Kardashian is. Seriously, I decided I would do my mom a favor and wash the kitchen floor – euch. Not that the kitchen floor was all that dirty, it just freaked me out even with those cute little kitchen gloves on. On my list for when I move into my own place is most definitely a cleaning crew!

Speaking of Kim K: I am not overly fond of her, but even I am starting to feel sorry for her. Can people just stop being nasty? She is PREGNANT. Gaining weight is something pregnant women do, if you haven’t noticed. Comparing her to Kate Middleton is the top point of unfairness, to my mind. Give the poor girl a break. Being 6 months pregnant is horribly difficult, without having the entire world focused on you.

Have a good day!
