Blindspot 2017: The List

blindspot-2017-logo

A few things I can tell you about this list:

  • I deliberately chose “lighter” films than last year. My 2016 list and 2015 list contained some serious heavy weights. I’m happy I got through them all, but to change things up I chose some films that were in a different genre than the other frequenters of my Blindspots.
  • This list started forming as I was thinking about how little of Brad Pitt’s work I’ve actually watched – he’s quite popular on here.
  • I am going to have a lot of fun watching these, I can tell.
  • I actually have a small list of other films that I’ll post some time that I also want to watch this year despite it not being Blindspots.
  • Here is my actual list below that I hope to enjoy and actually post monthly for the rest of the year.
  1. Scream (1996)
  2. Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
  3. The Departed (2006)
  4. Seven (1995)
  5. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
  6. Edward Scissorhands (1990)
  7. Ghost (1990)
  8. Basic Instinct (1992)
  9. Goodwill Hunting (1997)
  10. Interview with a Vampire (1994)
  11. The Italian Job (2003)
  12. Walk the Line (2005)

What did you choose this year? Let me know!

  1. Exciting list! I think I am also going to do one this year. Its such a great way to motivate me into watching things I’ve been telling myself I should’ve watched forever ago. #discipline #procrastinatingonmoviewatching #wow

    • Tom, you MUST. It takes some dedication, and I am terrible at that and schedules, but I managed somehow last year #dontknowhow #youcandoitthough

  2. Argh, so many movies in this list that I need to see myself! I can’t wait to read your post on The Departed, I feel like the only person in the world who didn’t like it!

    • Are you doing a list this year? I saw The Departed the other day – and it was so long! I liked it though, but the length? I felt like they could have cut at least half an hour of it.

      • I haven’t completed a list yet so I put myself off doing one this year. I’ll come back swinging next year though with a list of movies I actually want to see!
Isn’t it just! I think it was the length that killed me in the end 😦

    • I started already and so far, so good. watched both Seven and The Departed in advance this month, and I am really happy that I got to see them – excellent stuff.

  3. Looks like you have a great list of movies ahead to watch! I can’t wait to read your thoughts on Walk The Line, Se7en, and quite a few others. 😀

    • Thank you! I watched Seven this month – mind blown! It was amazing. I bought the DVD for Walk The Line years ago and never even opened it, so this is me forcing myself. I’m sure I’m going to love it!

  4. Yay! I love Blind Spot lists!!! Oh wow – you’ve not seen Scream or Nightmare On Elm Street? How has Zoë let you get away with not watching things like Seven & The Departed??? Lol. 😉 Have fun! You have some greats here. Elm Street & Edward Scissorhands are two all time faves of mine. : )

    • Those four you mentioned right there? My very existence was threatened by Zoë if I didn’t get to them this year – they are included as a safety measure 😀 I actually watched a bunch of them in Jan in advance so i don’t have last year’s drama, and they are all so good. I’ve wasted so much time in my life NOT watching them!

  5. There’s quite a few Bond films I’ve been putting off for a while. I’m a bit behind on X-Men ones too. Some good films on there. I have such a soft spot for Ghost.

    • I still need to see the last X-Men, and I am ashamed that I haven’t seen the majority of the Bond films. I hope I enjoy Ghost! Are you doing a list this year?

      • I’ve been concentrating more on books actually. I only read 2 or 3 last year! I did see La La Land within a few days of it coming out though.
